To scale the impact of this emerging charity and social enterprise I strengthened operations and addressed identified needs. I secured multi-year funding and delivered new practical interventions like; Bike Buddies, pairing refugees with volunteers for ongoing cycling support; Pedal Power, trauma-informed women-led group cycling sessions for refugee women; and set up a new regional hub, expanding refugee support to more communities across the country.
I focused on measuring and communicating impact and leveraging realtime data to inform inform strategic decisions, secure vital funding, partnerships and raise the profile of the organisation.
I undertook 18 months research to co-produce The Case for London’s Latin Quarter, a community-led vision advocating for migrant and ethnic businesses in Elephant and Castle, at the time the focus of one of Europe’s largest regeneration projects.
Through a partnership with South London Gallery and Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative I was able to increase arts and cultural accessibility for the Latin American community.
Tasked with securing the charity’s future I successfully secured continuation funding, managed volunteers, and led community outreach initiatives.
Coordinating sustainable transport projects across the West London region, I was tasked with developing strategies and building partnerships that promoted cycling and active travel, particularly among underrepresented communities.
One highlight was working with faith groups, NHS organisations, and education institutions to engage people who hadn’t traditionally been included. This work was recognised by Modeshift for its impact this work had on air quality, public health, and active travel in the region.
I worked closely with the NHS to co-design and evaluate improvements in maternity care. A key achievement was launching better feedback channels, ensuring that patients and their families could share their experiences more effectively. This work directly influenced more inclusive, safe, and personalised care.
This work involved participatory research with local communities to gather insights that shaped services, ultimately helping to improve the maternity journey for families across Cornwall.
